Interjet received the first of the three Airbus A321, which add to its fleet of 44 Airbus A320 and 22 Superjet 100.
“These teams, which are provided with a major seats capacity, will be used to attend high-density routes operated from Mexico City International Airport to destinations like Cancun, Monterrey and Tijuana, which will allow us to increase our operational effiency” said José Luis Garza, Interjet CEO.
Although the plane can carry up to 230 passengers, Interjet has configured to carry 192 passengers, preserving the stamp typical of the mark of offering the space between seats wider than the industry (86 cm between seats).
Additionally, the aircraft is the first in Latin America in being provided with the newest entertainment system called ‘eXo’ of Panasonic Avionics with HD screens of 12″ for a better service on board.
The incorporation of these aircafts, equipped with Sharklets device, provide a less fuel consumption, allowes Interjet, to maintain one of the most modern fleets of the world.
“We are extremely excited to incorporate into our fleet one of the most efficient aircraft and higher performance of Airbus” explained José Luis Garza.
The first aircraft has already been moved from Hamburg, Germany, to the center of mainteance of Interjet in Toluca, while the delivery of the remaining two aircrafts in contemplated for next October.
